You know how it is… there are so many wonderful things to do right where you live, but have you done them? Many people have not, including us… So one day, after stopping at Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) we popped over to Brittlebank Park (literally across the street from DMV) situated on the water with stunning views to check it out – There is a wonderful dock with a covered pier for fishing – although situated where it can certainly get congested (especially during events), we went at a quiet time, one man fishing, and it was beautiful outside!
There are always very cool events happening at this location, to name just a few:
Dock Dog – during Southeastern Wildlife Expo (SEWE)
Dragon Boat Festival, a fun festival to “promote physical and mental wellness among cancer survivors and their community through dragon boating”. (Cancer survivors participate for free)!
There are many events, festivals, concerts – you name it – this is a fabulous venue!
You don’t have to wait for an event or festival – The views are stunning. From the (very sturdy) dock you have multiple photo ops, which I love! This photo was taken facing away from the Ashley River Bridges – the vast marsh area looking onto the Ashley River. Wow. In the opposite direction is the bridge, which is pretty cool itself! If you’re in the Charleston area, be sure to check out Brittlebank Park – their website has an interactive calendar to click on for when there are events.
Get out and check out the area where you live. We’re all so busy we don’t have time to visit and see what’s nearby, sometimes it can surprise you! This was a nice surprise…
Catch you back here tomorrow!
