Today is Memorial Day, and many of us are outside enjoying our backyards – I wish I could pass along the scent of everything blooming right now. The lagustrums (against the back fence and bordering our yard), the Confederate Jasmine (to the left of the buoys) – Ohmygosh!
Unscented but just as beautiful are the hydrangeas which absolutely GLOW at dusk and the geraniums (pink) – that I lucked out and bought at the local grocery store, but them in regular pots and they are thriving! One geranium is from last year – it lived through our snowy (4 days) winter (tucked inside the garage) – it looked a little fragile – but after some attention, some sunshine and water it’s leaves are a deep green and it’s blooming again!
Usually at some point we need to move the geraniums into part-shade – to give them a break from the strong sun!
This is our sanctuary – would look prettier with cushions on the furniture, but you get the gist!
Today is Memorial Day, it’s more than a day off work, it’s a day to honor all the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military. It is because of them that we are able to enjoy our freedom – and our sanctuaries… Take a moment… Thank you… words are not enough. #thegreatestsacrificeofall
Catch you back here tomorrow!
